Marie's passion for education as a primary means to end the cycle of poverty for families brought fresh energy to the HFDH board. Motivated by this awareness of the value of education and the exponential impact it can have on a person's future, she permanently improved our fundraising abilities and, therefore, the future of the organization.
Marie worked tirelessly to prevent closure of this 120 year old program & then assumed a leadership role for the capital campaign to raise funds to restore the condemned building, replaced by our beautiful school and family support center on 16th and Dolores Streets.
Marie understood the policy and leadership complexities to ensure a high quality, nationally accredited, partially government funded, early childhood education and family support program serving a socially and economically diverse population. She was always very hands on and focused on ensuring that we executed successfully based on measurable outcomes. We built an extremely efficient infrastructure which had and continues to have profound impact with limited funds.
Marie is absolutely the person you want on your team leading an organization when there is a budget crisis.

“Marie Hurabiell was an incredible addition to Hamilton Family Center's board. Her breadth and depth of experience helped us to take decisive actions, when historically we had often talked in circles about possible solutions.”
